Lisa Longe
Lisa Longe holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and a Master’s of Christian Spirituality from Fordham University. For more than 20 years, Lisa has been teaching music in Schenectady City Public Schools in Upstate New York. She lives in Albany, New York, with her husband, two teenage children, two dogs, a bird, and a gecko.
Lisa taught general music for five years before moving to full-time instrumental band. Her greatest professional joy is introducing children to their first instrument. She also believes that there is no sound more beautiful than that of children singing, and one of her deepest loves is accompanying the choirs at the schools where she works.
After two decades of teaching music, she is still honored to be the person who gets to encourage young musicians in their musical growth, from their very first squeaks and squawks into a musician who makes amazing music.
