Brian Kehlenbach

Brian Kehlenbach is a composer, educator, classical recitalist, and jazz pianist. His original compositions reflect this diverse background – they are propulsive, rhythmic, and written in an eclectic style where jazz harmonies freely intermingle with classical forms and contemporary textures. Performances of his works have taken place on the Aries Composers Festival, the LA Philharmonic Green Umbrella series, the Charleston Piccolo Spoleto Festival, at Carnegie Hall, and in several venues across the country. He holds B.S. and M.M. degrees from the University of Connecticut and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Southern California. He is currently a faculty member in the Music Department at Santa Ana College in Orange County, California where he has served as Department Chair and Interim Dean of Fine and Performing Arts. He was named Distinguished Faculty Lecturer in 1999. Kehlenbach's music is published by Cimarron Music Press and Emil Kay Music.
