Benjamin Yeo
Benjamin Yeo (b. 1985) is an internationally recognized Singaporean educator, conductor, and composer. He began writing for wind bands at age fifteen, later studying under Dr. Kelly Tang and Dr. Zechariah Goh. His compositions have been featured at prestigious platforms, including the Singapore Youth Festival, the Japan Band Clinic, and the Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Notably, his work "Winds of Niagara" won the 2017 Dallas Wind Symphony Fanfare Competition.
Benjamin’s music is published by C. L. Barnhouse, Carl Fischer, Beriato Music, and Tierolff Muziekcentrale. Since 2008, numerous titles have appeared on the American Band College/Band World Top 100 lists, with recordings by world-class ensembles such as The Washington Winds and the Royal Netherlands Army Band.
As a conductor and clinician, Benjamin has been mentored by prominent professors including Dr. Mallory Thompson and Dr. Steven Davis. He has adjudicated competitions in Singapore, Taiwan, and China, and recently presented at the 2024 WASBE Conference in South Korea. An active member of COMPASS, Benjamin continues to work with students from primary to tertiary levels and remains a highly sought-after composer for international commissions.
