Things to consider

Start with the appropriate level for your student's age and experience. Alfred's Basic Piano Prep Course (Levels A and B) works well for children ages 4-6, while Alfred's Basic Piano Library (Levels 1A and up) suits ages 5 and older. Pair lesson books with the corresponding theory book to reinforce concepts between lessons. If your child is interested in ensemble playing, look for the duet and trio arrangements alongside their method level.
