Description
The barn dance was a popular social activity of 19th-century America where neighbors gathered for dance music and square dancing . This number features typical tunes, the songs being of a lively nature and traditionally featuring a violin. In this arrangement, the percussion supplies the lively dance beat. Although the wind parts contain occasional sixteenth notes, all passages are strictly "under the fingers" of the performers.
