Description
The sparks that flew from the rocks in the eerie light of dawn, together with the soldier's call to arms, would give any enemy pause. Awake the Iron, with its insistent unisons, energetic rhythms, modal themes, and powerful percussive writing, mirrors the ferocious intensity of the medieval battlefield. This was so fun to play. I'm going to miss constantly rehearsing on this piece.
This was an amazing concert, I played it in 7th grade.
I love playing this on clarinet. It's such a good song.
Really fun song, loved the trumpet parts.
The trumpet and trombone measure 114 to the end just gets me going, has a nice beat to it. 114 to the end sounds like a good ending in a movie, or when one team beats a powerful team, but the whole song sounds like a good ending in a movie.
Playing this at all district band goes crazy.
I was bass drum for this song and somehow it was still fun?? Incredibly rare. 10/10
I love the extra part from measures 110-111! Even though I play trombone, I like to play this part. I'm in love with it! 😅
As a snare, I had a field day with this piece and I will miss rehearsing this.
Me and my classmates always joked around, saying that this was villain music. Just because it is, have you heard the ending?
