Description
This version of Andalucía by Victor López is part of our Belwin FLEX offerings and is designed with maximum flexibility for use by any mix of instruments---wind, strings, and percussion, including like- or mixed-ensembles with as few as 4 players. The suggested instrumentation and a customizable Teacher Map will help you plan out how to best assign parts to suit your ensemble's needs. The 4-part instrumentation will support balanced instrumentation of the lower voices. It also comes with supplemental parts for maximum flexibility. With the purchase of this piece, permission is granted to photocopy the parts as needed for your ensemble. A percussion accompaniment track is also available as a free download. String parts have been carefully edited with extra fingerings and appropriate bowings to support students in mixed ensembles playing in less familiar keys.

Andalucía has always been a very musical land, and the Moors that occupied Andalucía for nearly 800 years have contributed greatly to its unique music and exotic dances. Victor López has utilized Andalucía as his inspiration to provide us with an original composition that blends both the flamenco and traditional march styles. Full of fire and energy!

played oboe in this for a concert in October 2022, this was the song that finally forced me to learn how to play a D-flat

Ha. One of my best band moments came from here. During class warmups, me (euph), friends (trumpet and percussion) started playing this in sync for fun. Because we all had leading parts in the beginning, people heard it and started joining in. We managed to get the entire band to play through, on speed, correctly, without a conductor. Man that was fun

playing this song for my band this year!! (french horn player) this song is so fun for me! especially cause I'm the only one in my grade who plays french horn and during class we don't have a lot of clarinets (about 4-5) so when we play parts it's like solos for us!

Just played this song on Clarinet (I'm usually a Bass Clarinet) I'd say it was my favorite out of all of my UIL songs. Pretty easy, but requires focus.

We're playing this for UIL, and I'm a trumpet. It sounds like a pirate song. But it's a Spanish song

I play Tenor Saxophone and it's just so fun to hear all the low brass, low reeds and percussion. I sit in the back row with the lows. This song is super fun to play as a Tenor. I highly recommend Tenor to any Alto players out there. If you know, you know. (Also, you aren't very cool if you play Careless Whisper as a saxophone player. It pisses the band directors off.)
