This collection of SEVEN SONGS by Franz Schubert (1797-1828) have been transcribed for chamber quartet by Robert Stallman. The first part is intended for Flute, Oboe, or Violin, while the remaining three parts are for Violin, Viola, and Cello, so the work can be performed as either a mixed chamber ensemble or a standard string quartet. Wohin?, D. 795, No. 2 (Whither?); 5. Der Einsame, D. 800b/ Op. 41 (The Recluse); 6. Wiegenlied, D. 498/ Op. 98, No. 2 (Cradle Song); 7. Litanei, D. 343 (Litany for the Feast of All Souls' Day).
