Description
Claude Debussy's (1862-1918) first began writing the SUITE BERGAMASQUE (CD 82/ L 75) in 1890, then revised it significantly just before it was published in 1905. Debussy was reluctant initially to see these early piano works published at all as they were written before he developed his mature style, but a publisher convinced him that they would be successful given the fame Debussy had achieved since he first wrote them. The third movement, Clair de lune, is one of the most famous works in classical music and certainly among Debussy's best-known pieces. This transcription of three of the movements (omitting only the first movement, Prélude) has been completed by early 20th Century French violinist Louis Carembat. Movements: 1. Menuet; 2. Clair de lune; 3. Passepied. Reprint edition.
