Description
Although he had already completed his F minor concerto, Frédéric Chopin's (1810-1849) CONCERTO FOR PIANO NO. 1 IN E MINOR, OP. 11 was the first to be published. Composed in 1829, it premiered on March 17 of the following year in Warsaw, the composer himself performing the solo under the direction of Carlo Evasio Soliva. He dedicated the concerto to one of his primary influences, the pianist Friedrich Kalbrenner. The first performance at the Teatr Narodowy received an enthusiastic reception and less than two months later, Chopin performed the piece at the Salle Pleyel in Paris.
