Description
Vaclav Nelhybel originally composed the Clarinet Quartet as a part of a large work entitled Festa di Discorsi Concertanti, which may have been completed around 1979. The Italian title, roughly translated, means a feast (festival) of conversations in the concertante style. This clarinet quartet is a refreshing addition to the twentieth century repertory of mixed ensembles of clarinets. This contemporary chamber work by the late Czechoslovakian composer, here presented in an edition by Dr. Alan Drake, is in three movements, incorporating great technical demands with sensitive musicianship.
