Description
AURA LEE, or THE MAID WITH THE GOLDEN HAIR, was written by W.W. Fosdick and George R. Poulton. First published in 1861, it eventually became one of the most popular, best-selling imprints of the era. It was later adapted, becoming ARMY BLUE, a traditional West Point song. More recently (1956) it has appeared as LOVE ME TENDER, popularized by Elvis Presley. This brass quintet arrangement by Wayne Scott is a "tour" through selected periods of music's history - from Gregorian chant to the "Tijuana Brass" sound.
