Dorian Variations: String Orchestra Conductor Score

"Dorian Variations" is a composition for string orchestra consisting of a ten measure theme in the Dorian mode followed by eleven variations of varying textures and moods, the last of which features the original theme in a chorale setting.  Some of the variations feature specific sections of the string choir, while others use contrapuntal (canonic) techniques.  Each variation supplies the string player with a solid musical experience at an easy level of performance.  It is ideal music for the young string player, while musically challenging for the more advanced performer.
