March of the Spanish Soldiery for Band: Concert Band, CS

Jean de Smetsky (1885-1954) of Belgium attained success with the works which he composed for the soldiers in the First World War. Because of this success he was awarded the Legion of Honor medal. MARCH OF THE SPANISH SOLDIERY was one of those compositions, and among his best known. The early editions of this march were performed by many Notable bands, which included the Sousa Band, the Frank Simon Band and the Cities Service Band of America. This edition was arranged by Mayhew Lake and has been rescored for the modern concert band by Paul W. Whear.
