The stateliness of a sarabande is portrayed elegantly in this A minor solo. The left hand is an excellent study in blocked chords. The right-hand melody must be projected over these chords throughout. In A-B-A form, the left hand remains the same throughout. However, the melody in the B section is one octave higher and an embellished variation of the original theme. The return to A is followed by an eight-measure coda, creating a lovely dance in Baroque style.
