A special edition of Les Paul's final performances at the Iridium Jazz Club
This final performance tribute all began on Les Paul's 90th birthday, when luminaries from the music world gathered to celebrate at New York's historic Iridium Jazz Club. Les and friends jammed every Monday for the next four years until the legend left us. Great moments from many of those sessions are presented in this tribute to the man who created a sonic boom with the solid-body electric guitar. Tributes and performances include such notables as Steve Miller, Keith Richards, Jose Feliciano, Bonnie Raitt, Tony Bennett, and more! Titles: How High the Moon * Limehouse Blues * Route 66 * Sleepwalk * Unchain My Heart * Cherokee * Nature Boy * and more.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This disc is a high-definition disc and is compatible only with Blu-ray players. It will not play on a standard DVD player.
"No music library is complete without this tribute, no one can claim to really know music without spending time with Les Paul, and fewer hours can be more enjoyable than hearing and seeing Paul in his element."
"The concert footage is straightforward and clean. Shots of New York's skyline and street life are creative. The use of a split-screen is also engaging, and never detracts from the performance. The sound on the stereo portions is clear and animates the guitars. Nothing in this DVD seems gratuitous."
