A beta launch of the Director's Choice Edition website, on which directors can customize and order their own versions of the methods at alfred.com/soundinnovations, is tentatively scheduled for July 2010. Directors will be able to customize their books and preview a selection of student books. The ordering functionality that will allow them to purchase their books through an authorized Sound Innovations retailer is scheduled for release soon thereafter.
"Our top priority, beyond releasing the Standard Edition books as scheduled, is to provide the unprecedented content of the Director’s Choice Edition on a user-friendly interface for directors, with a solid back-end infrastructure for our retailers," said Andrew Surmani, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Managing Director of School & Church Publishing at Alfred. "We are dedicated to perfecting the Director's Choice Edition website and are excited to release it when all testing is completed."
The official launch date of the Director's Choice Edition website has been carefully selected to accommodate starting dates for music programs across the country. Director's Choice Edition books will be printed and delivered as early as ten business days after placing an order. For schools that have a start date before the anticipated delivery of their books, or will not know exactly how many books they will need until after the start of school, the directors can print out the first level of each student book from the website.
Sound Innovations has been built upon feedback from the educator and retailer community, and the final testing phase will also include feedback from educators and retailers. The launch of the site will be supported with a social media community on Facebook and Twitter, and webinar tutorials by the authors.
Alfred will continue to provide information about the method, leading up to the official unveiling of the Director's Choice Edition website. Please continue to check alfred.com/soundinnovations for updates and sign up for the mailing list to be the first to know about new developments with Sound Innovations.
