Steven Raft Joins Alfred Music as Chief Financial Officer

LOS ANGELES, CA  -  Monday, June 17, 2013
Alfred Music is proud to announce that Steven Raft has joined its executive team as Chief Financial Officer.

Raft will lead Alfred Music’s finance, IT, and distribution departments as well as strategic planning. Under Raft’s leadership, Alfred Music executives have already closely inspected every aspect of the company’s operations and retooled the company to encourage collaboration, synergy, and accountability among all individuals and departments.

Raft’s career began as a CPA in public accounting. In the late ‘90s he became CFO for Tomorrow’s Morning, Inc. (a publisher of a weekly newspaper for children) and later became CFO for Cerwin-Vega, Inc. where he was also Interim President during his six-year tenure. Over the last eight years, Steven has worn two hats within the real estate industry in a dual COO/CFO function. First, he served at MWH Development Corp, where he led the finance and operations teams during a time when revenues nearly tripled and the firm acquired land to construct more than 1,500 homes over three years. Then, among a number of achievements at Montage Development, he worked with the owner to successfully reposition the company during the economic downturn. In addition to that, Steven is a guitar hobbyist and a music lover. Raft was recently announced as a finalist for the Annual CFO of The Year Award for the second time in the six years the San Fernando Valley Business Journal has been recognizing CFO’s as business leaders in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles.

“We are very particular about strong culture fit when adding talent within our executive team,” said Ron Manus, CEO of Alfred Music. “I can’t imagine anyone surpassing his kind of financial knowledge while also having the absolutely right effective disposition needed within our organization to help advance Alfred Music.”

“The best part about joining Alfred Music is the people,” said Raft. “I feel like I’ve found my home.”
