Piano: For the pianist, Alfred Music releases The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey for Easy Piano and Big Note, as well as an arrangement for piano and voice. These songbooks include eight arrangements that masterfully expand on the musical palette of Middle-earth, blending familiar motifs from The Lord of the Rings trilogy with an exciting array of memorable new themes, including “An Unexpected Party,” “Misty Mountains,” “The Adventure Begins,” “Song of the Lonely Mountain,” and more. In addition to the piano arrangements, this souvenir folio features an array of colorful photos from the film. Several songs available in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey are also available as piano sheet music solos. Both ”Dreaming of Bag End(from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey)” and Song of the Lonely Mountain (from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Joruney)” are available in Easy Piano solo, as well as Piano/Vocal/Guitar instrumentation.

Instrumental Play-Along Series: Alfred Music introduces an instrumental play-along series to the large collection of music from the film, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Music folios with an accompaniment and full performance CD feature 11 selections from this film including “A Very Respectable Hobbit,” “The Dwarf Lords,” “Erebor,” “Dreaming of Bag End,” and more. Instrumentation is available for the clarinet, flute, alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, horn in F, trombone, guitar, violin, viola, and cello.

Choral Octavo: ”Song of the Lonely Mountain (from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey)” has been arranged for SATB and SAB choirs. Featured over the end credits of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, this song paints the picture of the epic quest taken in the film. The song’s roots come from a theme sung by the dwarves earlier in the movie.
