Alfred Music Publishing 90th Anniversary Celebrated at 2012 RPMDA Convention Evening Gala
LOS ANGELES, CA
Friday, May 04, 2012
Alfred Music Publishing, the world leader in educational print music publishing since 1922, hosted a special 90th anniversary celebration at its Los Angeles headquarters last night for attendees of the 2012 The Retail Print Music Dealers Association (RPMDA) Convention
. Members of the RPMDA, industry partners, and esteemed guests were treated to live music by Alfred’s official house band, sASSafrASS, along with a special guest performance by Grammy®
-nominated, singer-songwriter, Lisa Loeb.
Ron Manus, CEO at Alfred, along Morty and Iris Manus (President and Executive Producer, respectively), personally welcomed over 200 guests off several charter buses in true Hollywood style, complete with red carpet, lights, and photo ops. Guests were then ushered onto an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Alfred HQ. The tour led to an outdoor pavilion that was festively dressed and with plenty of lounge areas for guests to unwind, network, and enjoy the night away with food, drinks, and music. The night culminated with heartfelt speeches by Ron, Morty, and Iris, that expressed their appreciation to all print music dealers in the industry for their tremendous role in Alfred’s 90 years of success in the business.
The 2012 RPMDA Convention (May 2 – 5, Los Angeles, CA) is an exciting forum for exchanging ideas and building bridges within the print music industry. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for dealers and publishers to meet in a non-commercial setting to discuss the present and plan for the future. This year, Alfred’s own Antonio Ferranti, Director of Sales, Consumer Products, hosted the informative session “From Brick and Mortar to Click and Mortar: The Secrets of Retail, 2.0.” The session provided helpful tips to dealers on how to turn offline customers into their online customers, and making those online customers their loyal customers.
The RPMDA is a professional trade organization founded over 20 years ago to address the special needs and interests of the dynamic print music industry. Its members are active in local, state and national organizations, constantly taking the market’s pulse. Their collective voice is heard on such issues as copyright protection, bar coding, the Internet, and arts advocacy.
