LOS ANGELES, CA

Alfred Music Publishing, the official print music publisher of thousands of popular artists, songwriters, and composers, releases U.Play.Plus: More Pops
, the latest edition to the flexible instrumental series that contains popular songs for solo play-alongs or ensembles.
Arranged by popular Alfred composer and arranger Victor López, U.Play.Plus: More Pops gives players the opportunity to play together using any combination of instruments. Each book has a two-line score for every title. The top line (A) is the melody and the second line (B, C, or D) may be played as a duet with line A and is one of the four-part harmony lines. The arrangement offers flexibility to add up to three more instruments with three more parts that complete the harmony.
Cue notes are included to fill in missing parts. Woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion may play together, with or without the rhythm section accompaniment (piano/guitar/score book) or the CD, which is sold separately. The CD includes a concert Bb tuning note and two tracks for each song. The first is a demonstration track, and the second is the rhythm section accompaniment (piano, guitar, electric bass, and drums).
U.Play.Plus: More Pops titles include “Any Way You Want It,” “Baby,” “Born to Be Somebody,” “Celebration,” “Danger Zone,” “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” “Dynamite,” “Living in America,” “Raiders March,” and “Take the A Train.”
U.Play.Plus: More Pops instrumental books are now available for trombone/baritone/bassoon/tuba, percussion, flute/oboe, trumpet, alto sax, tenor sax, clarinet, violin, viola, and cello/bass for $8.99, piano/guitar/score for $9.99, and play-along CD for $10.99. They can be found at a local music retail store, or at alfred.com.
