LOS ANGELES, CA  -  Monday, December 12, 2011
Alfred Music Publishing, the world leader in educational print music publishing since 1922, is proud to announce the release of Hot Jams for Recorder, a powerfully engaging collection of original recorder pieces accompanied by guitar and drum, by National Board Certified Teacher, author, and national clinician, Jim Solomon.

Hot Jams for Recorder is appropriate for upper elementary school through adult level players, with 15 captivating, fully reproducible, and performance-tested pieces. With parts provided for recorder, guitar, percussion, and Orff instruments, students are given plenty of opportunities to explore their own creativity as they develop their musicianship. For classroom use, each piece has Teaching Process Suggestions that provide new insights into teaching recorder. Many of the guitar chord progressions are standard and are all playable by teachers using basic chords.

The enclosed CD includes recordings of every song, with a track for the full version and a second track for accompaniment only. Additional features include pages of ideas for directed listening, improvisation, visuals, movement, terminology, and more.

As part of Alfred’s ongoing commitment to improving the environment, the songbook is printed on 100% recycled paper.

Hot Jams for Recorder Book & CD (00-37776) is now available for $24.99 at music retail stores and at alfred.com/classroom.
