Alfred Music Publishing Gives the Joy of Making Music at PASIC 2011 with In-Kind Donations
LOS ANGELES, CA

Alfred Music Publishing, the world leader in educational print music since 1922, offered in-kind donations to future music educators and deserving students at the close of Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) 2011, held November 10 – 12, in Indianapolis, IN.
More than 100 Alfred methods, supplements, and educational DVD titles were placed in the hands of music majors. Students included percussion majors from Indiana University under the tutelage of Steve Houghton, Professor of Percussion and Jazz, Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music.
An email from Houghton chronicled his students’ response to the donated material: “You have no idea what your wonderful gift meant to all of our students . . . that’s all they could talk about. They couldn’t understand how a company could do that for them. I don’t think I’ve seen them that excited about educational materials, ever. I can’t thank you enough for your kindness, and for your true dedication to education and to the students. I’m very proud to be associated with Alfred all of these years.”
PASIC is the largest percussion event in the world featuring over 120 concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels and presentations. To view PASIC 2011 highlights, visit pas.org/experience/newestvideos
