Audition Repertoire for the Intermediate Pianist Released by Alfred Music Publishing

Alfred Music Publishing, the world leader in educational print music publishing since 1922, is proud to announce the release of Audition Repertoire for the Intermediate Pianist, a three-book series that provides a well-balanced audition, festival, or recital program for the intermediate piano player.

The Audition Repertoire for the Intermediate Pianist books are designed with two pre-set recital and/or audition programs from which to choose, and organized to give a well-balanced line-up with various composers, moods, and musical characters. The pieces within the books are considered as “tried and true” standards in intermediate piano repertoire. Editor Jane Magrath provides a foreword in each book with practice tips and information about the repertoire, including editorial commentary and history on each piece.

Audition Repertoire for the Intermediate Pianist, Book 1, program one, includes: Trumpet Tune in C Major, ZT 698 (Henry Purcell), Sonatina in G Major, Anh. 5, No. 1 (Ludwig Van Beethoven), The Avalanche, Op. 45, No. 2 (Stephen Heller), and Petite Piece, Op. 6, No. 5 (Alexander Goedicke). Program two includes: Fugue (Domenico Zipoli), Sonatina No. 3 in C Major (Jean Theodore Latour), Restlessness, Op. 100, No. 18 (Johann Friedrich Burgmüller), and Love Song (Bela Bartók).

Audition Repertoire for the Intermediate Pianist, Book 2, program one, includes: Intrada (Cristoph Graupner), Waltz in B Minor, D. 145; Op. 18, No. 6 (Franz Schubert), The Storm, Op. 109, No. 13 (Johann Friedrich Burgmüller), and Folk Dance (Bela Bartók). Program two includes: Fugue in C Major (Johann Pachelbel), Sonatina in C Major, Op. 55, No. 1, First Movement (Friedrich Kuhlau), Waltz in A Minor, Op. Posth (Frédéric Chopin), and France, Op. 21, No. 9 (Sergei Bortkievich).

Audition Repertoire for the Intermediate Pianist, Book 3, program one, includes: Bourée in E Minor (Johann Sebastian Bach), Solfeggietto, Wq. 117/2 (Carl Phillipp Emanuel Bach), Träumerei, Op. 15, No. 7 (Robert Schumann), and Page d’album (Claude Debussy).
