Alfred Music Publishing, the world leader in educational print music publishing since 1922, has been honored with four Paul Revere Awards for graphic excellence by the Music Publishers Association of the United States during their annual meeting held on June 3, 2011 at the Harvard Club of New York City.
Each year, outstanding examples of graphic design are selected by the MPA to be honored by the Paul Revere Award, acknowledging publishers for their efforts in creating art for the music industry. This year, Alfred Music Publishing took the top honor for the graphic design of the Audition Repertoire for the Advancing Pianist method series in the categories of “Cover Design Featuring Graphic Elements,” “Book Design in Folios,” and “Keyboard Music Notesetting.” The Led Zeppelin Ultimate Guitar Play-Along and The Michael John La Chiusa Songbook music folios both received the 2nd Prize Award in the “Book Design Folios” category.
“Creativity is a unique gift,” commented Ron Manus, CEO at Alfred Music Publishing. “As creative professionals, we take great pride in our work and understand how a good design ties into the overall success of any of our songbooks. It’s truly an honor to be recognized by the MPA for our efforts within this capacity.”
In addition to the nods for exemplary graphic design work, the MPA also honored Morty Manus, President of Alfred Music Publishing, with the “2011 Lifetime Achievement Award” for his decades of devotion and continued service to educators, teachers, musicians, and the music community.
The Paul Revere Award winning publications are available for display at libraries, schools, and other institutions.
