Alfred Music Publishing Releases Place to Be Piano Solos by Hiromi

LOS ANGELES, CA  -  Friday, February 25, 2011

Alfred Music Publishing is excited to release Hiromi: Place to Be, the officially licensed piano solo songbook to the album by contemporary jazz/fusion musician Hiromi Uehara.

Lauded as " ... one of jazz piano's brazenly virtuosic players" by JazzTimes, pianist/composer Hiromi Uehara took an interest in classical piano at a very young age, elevating to a performance with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra at age 14. Her musical horizon soon grew to include jazz music, and by age 17, an encounter with Chick Corea in Tokyo led to a guest concert appearance with the famed jazz recording artist the very next day. Her new songbook Place to Be joins Alfred’s extensive jazz piano solos catalog.

Hiromi: Place to Be features accurately transcribed piano solos from the album, with easy piano versions for the titles "Place to Be," "Somewhere," and "Sicilian Blue," as well as bonus songs “Green Tea Farm” and “The Tom and Jerry Show.” The book also includes the artist’s personal reflection notes on each song.

As part of Alfred’s ongoing commitment to improving our environment, this book is printed on 100% recycled paper stock.

Hiromi: Place to Be (00-36748) is now available for $19.99 at local music retail stores or at
