William Finn is noted for his work on the trilogy of musical shows In Trousers, March of the Falsettos, and Falsettoland, the latter two of which were combined into the musical Falsettos, winning Tony awards for “Best Music and Lyrics” and for “Best Book of a Musical.” He later wrote the music and lyrics to The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, which won Tony awards for “Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical” and “Best Book of a Musical.”
