Valerie Showers Crescenz

Valerie Showers Crescenz began piano lessons at age 3 and has been making music ever since.  She has a B.S. in Music Education , a M.M. in Piano Performance, and a M.M. in Music Theory and Composition.  She has been an instructor at West Chester State College (PA), Penn State (Lima campus) and Delaware County Community College, having taught classes in music theory, ear training, music history and piano.  She is currently the vocal music teacher at West Bradford Elementary School, Downingtown, PA, where she teaches general music and directs the chorus.

Valerie has also served as a choir director, an organist, piano and voice teacher, and has also performed as a pianist/vocalist for a number of years.  Her real love, however, is composing, and she has a number of published works.  She has had numerous commissions and awards. She is a member of ASCAP, American Composers Forum, Composers Guild, Music Educators National Conference, and Pennsylvania Music Educators Association.
