Ted Cooper, a native of Illinois, currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia, where he is a member of the piano faculty at the Levine School of Music in Washington, D. C. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Western Illinois University and a Teaching Certificate from the New School for Music Study. He has studied piano pedagogy with Ann Collins, Frances Clark and Louise Goss.
Ted was a recipient of the Group Piano Teaching Award presented jointly by Music Teachers National Association and the National Piano Foundation. A videotape of his teaching was featured at the 2001 National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy in Chicago. He has also been a presenter and panelist at MTNA national conferences.
