Rob Hume

Born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1965, Rob has been a full time instrumental instructor for over 25 years. Working in the South of Scotland he teaches the full range of brass instruments to pupils from the age of 8 to 18. Currently he is the musical director of Scottish Borders Wind Orchestra and Scottish Borders Chamber Orchestra.

A graduate of the University of Huddersfield, Rob studied performance and composition. Whilst he was still a student he was commissioned to write music to mark the centenary of Wakefield Cathedral.

Rob has worked with and coached all types of instrumental and vocal ensembles during his teaching career. He has around 100 arrangements and compositions published and played all over Europe. He lives in the Scottish Borders with his wife and two children.
