Peter Eldridge

Peter Eldridge is a composer, vocalist, pianist, composer/arranger, teacher (the Manhattan School of Music Jazz Voice faculty, graduate degree) as well as a founding member of the Grammy-winning vocal group New York Voices. With the Voices and on his own Peter continues to travel internationally for concert performances, festivals and clinics. New York Voices recently released its seventh album, A Day Like This on the MCG/Concord label. Peter himself has released three solo projects, two featuring his original compositions,Fool No More and Decorum, as well as Stranger in Town, a collection of standards.

Peter has performed or recorded with numerous artists, among them Bobby McFerrin, David Byrne, Michael Brecker, Betty Buckley, Meredith Monk, George Benson, Kurt Elling, Mark Murphy, Jon Hendricks, Linda Eder, and many others. Besides being featured on New York Voices projects or his own albums, Peter's compositions have been included on recordings by other artists: Minds of Their Own, written with Brazilian composer Ivan Lins was recorded on Nancy Wilson's 2005 Grammy-winning CD R.S.V.P. - Rare Songs, Very Personal; Difficult was recorded by Cuban saxophonist-clarinetist Paquito D'Rivera for his 2006 Jazz Chamber Trio project, and Jane Monheit, who was at one time one of Peter's students, features Peter's song Surrender as the title track of her 2007 CD.
