Michael R. Keller holds bachelor's and master's degrees in vocal and choral music performance with more than two hundred compositions and arrangements listed in the catalogs of a dozen publishers. He has authored six published books on conducting and handbell ringing. A former national president of The American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, he was recently awarded the organization's Honorary Life Membership, the highest honor it can bestow on an individual. Mike is currently the Director of Music and Fine Arts at Central United Methodist Church. There, he directs its music and drama programs and Vivace!, a community youth handbell choir. He also directs The After School Music Program sponsored by the church, which offers music theory, composition and conducting instruction to area teens. Its participants have had their compositions performed by numerous local high school wind ensembles and the Union Symphony Orchestra. He also serves as a conductor for the Union Symphony Orchestra and heads its Young Composer and Young Conductor programs.
