Marylou Dunn is a talented composer/songwriter and actress. She received a four-year music scholarship and was able to earn her B.A. in music and minor in drama from Scripps College, her M.A. in music from California State University at Long Beach and a Graduate Fellowship from Western Reserve University in Musical Theater Production.
She has taught elementary and secondary schools for 29 years in vocal music and drama. She has also directed and performed in the Long Beach Civic Light Opera, the Long Beach Studio Theater and Summer Stock. Her writing credits include various songs published by Alfred Music Publishing, Warner Bros. and Lorenz Corporation as well as writing and collaboration credits for various musicals.
Ms. Dunn has been the recipient of various awards such as, the Encore Award for Outstanding Contributions to Music Education and the Tempo Award for Best Supporting Actress in The Desert Song.
Ms. Dunn's professional memberships include the Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop, Musical Theatre West, the National Academy of Songwriters, ACDA and the International Alliance for Women in Music.
