Martha (Lewis) Yasuda started violin lessons at the age of 10, studying with Mr. Rudy Hazucha. She continued her musical education with Mr. William Starr at the University of Tennessee and subsequently obtained her Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, studying with Zvi Zeitlin and Charles Castleman.
Mrs. Yasuda has over thirty years of teaching experience, much of it using the Suzuki method. She has performed professionally in a number of orchestras, including the Rochester Philharmonic and the Greenville Symphony (SC).
Martha and her husband, Ken, reside in Atlanta, Georgia and have two grown children, Kenny and Hannah. Mrs. Yasuda is the director of Suzuki from the Heart, her violin teaching studio, where she enjoys interacting with 35 students or more on a weekly basis.
In addition to her Double Stop Solo publications and other works with Alfred Music Publishing Company, Inc., Mrs. Yasuda also collaborates with the Atlanta Symphony, arranging music for educational concerts. All music arrangements are personally entered into the computer in Martha’s home office, using the Finale music software program.
