Lorely Zgonc is a professional violinist and music educator who has played
with the Phoenix, Tucson and Oregon Symphonies and was principal violinist
with the West Coast and Aspen Chamber Orchestras. She was an artist in
residence for the state of Oregon and currently teaches in the Reynolds
School District in Fairview, Oregon, where she has taught strings since
1987. Ms. Zgonc is also the concertmaster and soloist with the Oregon
Ballet Theater and Portland Opera Orchestras. A frequent adjudicator and
clinician throughout the Western states, she enjoys writing for orchestra,
with emphsis on building string technique and has published a beginning
performance trainer for individual or group string instruction, Stars
& Strings Forever. Lorely Zgonc is married to Dr. Larry Zgonc, director
of orchestras at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon, and principal
bass of the Portland Opera and Oregon Ballet Orchestras. He is the founder
and director of the MHCC Northwest Orchestra Festival and the artistic
co-director of the Beijing International Orchestra Festival.
