Karen received a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from California State University, Northridge, and a Masters in Music Education degree from the University of Southern California. She is a credentialed and Orff certified music teacher and also has extensive training in early childhood and elementary music education. She has taught music at the elementary school, middle school, and university levels. An accomplished classical vocalist, Karen sings professionally and teaches private voice

with her husband, Andrew, and their two sons.
Karen is a member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, Music Educators National Conference, the Organization of American Kodaly Educators, Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, and National Association for the Education of Young Children.
