John Kinyon holds degrees from both Ithaca College and the Eastman School
of Music, as well as an honorary doctorate from Limestone College in Gaffney,
S.C. He has served as an instrumental music director and music department
head for several school districts, as educational director for Warner Brothers
Music in New York, and as a professor of music education at the University
of Miami, Florida. Since 1982, he has been semi-retired in Tuckasegee.
John Kinyon is a prolific composer of educational music and has published
original marches, ballads and overtures totaling over 250 for Alfred. His
works range in difficulty from Grade 1 to Grade 3, and are written in a
variety of styles.
