Jeff Darrohn is a composer, arranger and saxophonist based in London, England. Originally from Philadelphia, he received a BM from the University of the Arts. For 17 years Jeff was director of bands at Saint David School, Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, where his program took countless awards in competitions and festivals. Jeff was also director of the Philadelphia Archdiocesan Elementary Jazz Band for five years. As a freelance musician, Jeff has performed with artists such as Lou Rawls, Urbie Green, Buddy DeFranco and Mel Lewis. Jeff currently leads his six saxophones and rhythm section group SAXON in London, which performs his music from the album Jeff Darrohn T Bird 60, released in 2007 on the Jazzed Media label. In the UK and US, he performs with and composes for the Pete Cater, Hot Orange, Jimmy Cannon and Brian Pastor big bands. Jeff composes for many elementary, middle and high schools and Towson State University.
