George Megaw, a native of Washington, D.C., currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mr. Megaw’s undergraduate degree is from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His master’s degree is from James Madison University and his doctoral study was at the University of Virginia in Educational Leadership and Policy Study.
Active in all aspects of music education, since 1999 he has served as editor for Belwin concert band publications, a division of Alfred Music Publishing. Prior to that Mr. Megaw was a college band director in both Virginia and Tennessee for 12 years. Throughout his career he has taught music education at all levels, elementary through college.
Mr. Megaw is a member of the College Band Directors National Conference, Alfred’s representative to the American Bandmasters Association, a member of Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity, Tau Beta Sigma Honorary Band Sorority and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
He remains active as an adjudicator, clinician and guest conductor throughout the United States and Canada.
