Gavin Greenaway attended Trinity College of Music in London where he won the John Halford Composition and Chopin Performance Prizes. He has conducted orchestras for Sir George Martin, Josh Groban, Shania Twain, and Sir Paul McCartney. He has also has conducted over 50 movie scores, including How to Train Your Dragon, Gladiator, Sherlock Holmes, Kung Fu Panda and The Dark Knight.
Greenaway’s compositions include Lighting of the Olympic Cauldron at the 2010 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, Disney's EPCOT Millennium Celebration and Reflections of Earth, Emmy Award winning ABC 2000, and New Water Music (Passepied) for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant. He also adapted the theme from Gladiator by Hans Zimmer into the song Il Gladiatore, which Luciano Pavarotti sung on his final album.
