Gary Hallquist
is Assistant Professor of Worship Ministries at the New Orleans
Baptist Theological Seminary. He has previously served on the music staff
of several large churches in Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana, most recently
at Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Birmingham. He is a widely published
composer of church choral and instrumental music, and a recording artist
with two solo albums. Gary plays the saxophone, clarinet and flute, and
has a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University
of North Texas, as well as a Master of Theological Studies degree from
Beeson Divinity School. He also has a Bachelor of Music Education degree
from Oral Roberts University. He is a known conference speaker and worship
leader. He and his wife, Sherrell, have three grown children, Kevin, Virginia
and Meredith.
