Dr. Martha Baker-Jordan is a pianist whose background and training focused on piano performance, yet she chose to specialize in the art of piano teaching with emphasis on piano pedagogy and group piano instruction. In addition to a distinguished performance career as a member of the Bachma Duo under the auspices of Columbia Artists, Dr. Baker-Jordan is held in high regard as a recognized expert in piano teaching at all levels, as author of many articles and papers and author and co-author of several piano instruction books. She is in demand as a clinician on piano teaching techniques and serves in several piano leadership capacities at state and national levels.
Dr. Baker-Jordan was a Professor of Piano, Piano Pedagogy and Class Piano at California State University, Fullerton, for 32 years where she received numerous awards for teaching excellence. She developed a comprehensive piano pedagogy program whose high quality has received national and international recognition.
