Alfred Author-Douglas Richard

Since 1999, Mr. Richard has been the Chief Music Arranger for the United States Military Academy Band at West Point, NY. Prior to that, he served as a music copyist for The United States Army Band (Pershing's Own) and a bugler for the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (the Old Guard) Fife and Drum Corps, both located in Arlington, VA.

In addition to his military career, Mr. Richard is an adjunct professor of music at Marist College, where he conducts the string orchestra. He also maintains a busy schedule as a freelance composer and music arranger. As a music copyist, he works for numerous nationally recognized composers, orchestras, and televised events.

He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Duquesne University and a Master's Degree in Studio Composition from SUNY Purchase. He currently resides with his wife just north of New York City.
