Derek Fawcett

Derek Fawcett is a member of the voice faculty at Columbia College Chicag, and a prolific presenter of workshops and master classes around the world. Schools and venues he’s worked with include Michigan State University, Salford University (Manchester, England), University of Minnesota-Duluth, University of Pretoria (South Africa), University of the Arts (Philadelphia), Kirchschlag Music School (Austria), Elmhurst College (Illinois), Ettisweiler Sekundarschule (Ettisweil, Switzerland), Belmont University (Nashville), The Ark (Ann Arbor, MI), and more than a dozen grade schools throughout the U.S.

His private students have been frequently honored by Downbeat Magazine for excellence in solo singing, and they perform, teach, and manage musical projects across the U.S. Outside of teaching, Derek was a founding member of Down The Line (shared stages with Peter Frampton, Ben Folds, America, Lifehouse, Pat Benatar, Colin Hay, etc.) and now tours globally as a soloist including two recent tours of Europe, and opening slots domestically for Blues Traveler and Lisa Marie Presley. His music has been featured on 93XRT (Chicago) and Ann Arbor’s 107.1, and his debut full-length album produced by Cody Fry (Ben Rector, Charlie Peacock) and NikoXidas (Matt Wertz) is slated for release later this year.
