Dave has been playing the bass for 28 years and has been both a performer and instructor for over 20 years. He studied with Bruce Gertz, Whit Brown, and John Neves at Berklee College of Music in Boston and later earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from Western Connecticut State University.

Dave has been a member of the Bass faculty at the National Guitar Workshop since its inception in 1984 and still holds bass seminars and teaches classes a few weeks each summer at the Workshop. In addition to teaching privately, Dave is also the Director of Music and Head of Jazz Studies at the Canterbury School in New Milford, Connecticut where he has taught since 1985.

In addition to appearing on several CDs in styles ranging from funk to jazz and rock to reggae, Dave also records with his own band. Dave has performed with some great guitar players in both the jazz and rock worlds such as Mike Stern, Larry Coryell, Frank Gambalie, John Abercrombie, Trey Anastasio (Phish), and Zakk Wylde (Ozzy).
