David Bretzius is a retired elementary music specialist, having taught full time in the Phoenixville Area School District, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, for 34 years. In addition to his classroom and choral activities, he also served as the district’s music coordinator.
David received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from West Chester University, Pennsylvania. Presently, he is an adjunct professor at his alma mater, teaching Kodaly methodology and supervising student teachers in music education. Using “listening lessons” developed in his own classroom, he has been an active clinician throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
David and his wife Karen, who is also a retired music educator, have served as music ministers for over 30 years, most recently at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oaks, Pennsylvania. They have two children and are “Grammy and Pop Pop” to one grandson.
