Chris
Judah-Lauder earned her Masters in Music Education from Indiana University, and
has taught music at Good Shepherd Episcopal School in Dallas for over twenty years,
where she received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2001. Chris has served as
a Regional Representative for the National Board for the American Orff Schulwerk
Association where she chaired the Conference Committee and served as Co-Chair
of the Nominating Committee. In 1995, she was the Local Conference Co-Chair for
the AOSA National Conference in Dallas, where her students performed for the opening
session.
As a nationally-known clinician, Ms. Judah-Lauder has taught Orff
Teacher Training courses at institutions throughout the United States, including
Luther College, University of North Texas, Trinity College, James Madison University
and Central Florida. She has presented at six AOSA national conferences in addition
to independent workshops throughout the United States.
In 2004, Ms. Judah-Lauder
presented at Chorister's Guild, TMEA, KMEA, North Carolina AOSA, Kansas Orff Chapter,
New England AOSA, Kentucky AOSA, 2005 National AOSA (Long Beach) and at IMEA (Iowa).
In 2005, her workshops included FMEA, TMEA, South Florida AOSA, San Diego AOSA,
North Dallas AOSA, Montana AOSA, North Texas University, and Orff Level Certification
Courses at Trinity College (San Antonio, Texas), and Central Florida.
Ms.
Judah-Lauder directs three middle school ensembles: Orff Select, D.R.U.M. and
Recorder Ensemble. Her groups have been featured at state, national and international
conferences.
Her publications include Fun with Boomwhackers, Boom
Boom Holiday Fun, Boom Boom Classics (Alfred), Hand Drums on the
Move and To Drum (Beatin' Path Publications), Keeping it Simple
and Sounds 'n Beats (Sweet Pipes). She is also a contributing author for
MacMillan/McGraw-Hill's new textbook series, Spotlight On Music.
