Beth Rice Luttrell

(1934– )

Beth Rice Luttrell received a B.A. in English literature from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Journalism faculty at the University of Central Oklahoma after her graduation and later was associate editor of Home Missions magazine, Atlanta, Georgia.

A freelance writer for a number of years, Mrs. Luttrell began writing texts for anthems and hymns in 1990. These have been regularly published. She has received a number of awards for hymn writing. She lives with her husband, Dr. Lester Luttrell, on a small lake near Newnan, Georgia. She enjoys reading, organic gardening and watching wild life. Mrs. Luttrell and her husband are the parents of two daughters and a son, all grown. They have three grandchildren.
