Dr. Willard A. Palmer
Alfred Author-Willard A. Palmer

A world renowned musician, scholar and music teacher, Dr. Willard Palmer wrote 789 published works, including methods and solo pieces. Recognized worldwide as an authority on Baroque music ornamentation, his work in this field was the basis of the highly acclaimed Alfred Masterworks series. He is also a co-author of Alfred's Basic Piano Library. Dr. Palmer, who passed away on April 30, 1996, was beloved by many in the music field.

Stewart Gordon


Stewart Gordon has received numerous awards for his distinguished achievements in the field of music. He toured internationally, recording works by Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, and de Falla, as well as the complete Rachmaninoff Preludes. He is currently a Steinway Artist and president of the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition. Dr. Gordon's editions of Beethoven Piano Sonatas are now complete with the recent release of Volume 4.
